Beginning April 10th,
Green Markets, a South Florida company specializing in open air food markets,
will being hosting a produce market in Key West twice a month. The market
and food bazaar will be set up at Bayview Park on Truman Ave. in Key West. This will
be the eight location Green Markets has hosted in south Florida. The key focus
is to bring organic, Caribbean, conventional and exotic produce to one place
for area residents.
With 30-60 local vendors at each Green Markets Hosted produce market, the
plan for the newest market is to give Key West residents more choices in an
affordable manner. There will be certified organic produce, both conventional
and exotic varieties. There will be typical faire such as lettuce, tomatoes,
carrots, to more exotic fare such as star fruits, mangoes and Caribbean
specific varieties provide every two weeks. Some other offerings that are
expected include honey, jams, homemade sauces and seasonings as well as organ
empanadas and marinades. Shoppers will be able to cover all their produce needs
