Ah summer...Roll out those lazy, hazy and crazy days of summer...
Some say that it’s always summer in Key West. But there is actually a different feeling in the summertime. Things seem to be just a little more relaxed and people tend to be a bit more upbeat. Maybe it’s all that sun we’ll be getting after June 20th.
For most people, the beginning of summer was on Memorial Day, the time when the grills and water equipment come out for a few months. But for others, and the calendar, the Summer Solstice and/or the beginning of summer start on June 20th at 7:08 PM Eastern time.
What does that mean? Well, if you are an astrologer it means this is the longest day of the year, and the time when the sun stays in one place on the sky. Within about 3 days it starts to move the opposite direction, thus starting the very slow trek towards fall and winter. But if you’re a sun lover the Solstice means you have much more time to enjoy the sun, warmer nights on the beach and all those skimpy bikinis.
Something else that comes along with the warmer summer days is the chance to take stock of where you are and where you would like to be. Maybe it’s a time when you would like to change your living location or just refresh some of the items around the old one.
Have you ever thought, while walking on the beach, wouldn’t it be nice to live closer to the ocean? Or maybe you are tired of the ocean and you would like to live more inland. That’s few of the many possibilities you have in Key West.
You can live close to the ocean, inland, near the center of town where there is always something to do, or maybe just far enough from everything that all you can hear is the breeze blowing or some of the nocturnal inhabitants of the island. That is the beauty of Key West, there is always something for everyone.
With that in mind, come join us for the Summer Solstice and toast the sun while you enjoy its warmth on the beach for the longest day of the year. Whether you’re looking to make a change in your living arrangements, a local, a tourist, looking to move permanently to the Keys, or just someone who likes the beauty of nature, the great variety of amenities in the homes in our area are just more reason to want to make a change and live in the beautiful Key West.
