Public School Graduation has started in Key West and goes on through Friday June 8th. So what do you give that graduate that he or she doesn’t already have? What would help make this day stand out and let the graduate know she or he has really accomplished something and you are very proud of them?
Of course there is always the party that most grads have which can range from an intimate family affair to a total blow out. There are Theme Parties that are sure to get everyone involved and enjoying themselves with fun activities. Some of these even have DJs and other attractions.
There are also special gifts that can be bought or made. These gifts are a treasured part of the graduation experience and every time the graduate sees it they will not only remember graduation they will remember who gave them the gift.
But parties last only a few hours although the memories will last a life time. Nice gifts will also help the memories last. But the only problem is that now the graduate needs to make their way in the world and many would like to move out on their own. Many graduates already have a job, but if they don’t, help in finding one is always nice. Also many grandparents and some parents give savings or trust accounts. Other gift givers will give money as their gifts.
Another unique idea that many don’t think about is to help them find a nice Key West apartment all their own. It’s always hard when the child moves out. But if this is something they want to do why not make it easier and help them on their way to independence. Giving the graduate a gift of the first month’s rent and the security deposit may mean the difference between a nice little one bedroom apartment and some place you would rather not talk about.
