Below is what the Florida Keys website has to say on touring our historic inns, which will be decorated in their holiday finest!

Frost-free Key West might be the southernmost island in the continental United States, but many of its bed-and-breakfast inns sport holiday decorations worthy of Santa's northernmost workshop. Visitors can tour the most festive and discover Key West's 19th-century architecture and warmhearted seasonal spirit in lighted inn tours set for 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Dec. 17.

Presented by the Key West Innkeepers Association, the 2011 tours feature unique island inns with indoor and outdoor spaces decked out for the holidays. At each featured stop, innkeepers will be on hand to share information about the property and its history.

Other attractions include mouthwatering cuisine prepared by top Key West restaurants, vintages from Opici Wine Co. and other holiday refreshments.

Inns included in the Dec. 9 tour are Mermaid & The Alligator, 729 Truman Ave.; Cypress House, 601 Caroline St.; Artist House on Fleming, 1016 Fleming St.; Rose Lane Villas, 522-524 Rose Lane; Wicker Guesthouse, 913 Duval St., and Tropical Inn, 812 Duval St.

The Dec. 17 tour features Westwinds, 914 Eaton St.; Artist House, 534 Eaton St.; Cypress House; Villas Key West, 512 Angela St., and Avalon, 1317 Duval St.

Participants can visit the inns on their own each evening or in conjunction with a holiday trolley tour presented by CityView Trolley Tours.

Tickets are $25 per person for the self-guided tour alone or $40 per person for the trolley tour, and can be purchased at www.keystix.com.
